The world premiere of Dalit Warshaw’s new concerto for the theremin is paired with one of the first large-scale works written for it: Joseph Schillinger’s First Airphonic Suite, both featuring theremin virtuoso Carolina Eyck. Plus Krazy Kat and Skyscrapers, two jazz-age ballets from John Alden Carpenter, and Kurt Weill's 1929 suite from The Threepenny Opera.

In addition to this performance, BMOP plans to record these two historic works for release on BMOP/sound. This CD will not only capture what is sure to be an unforgettable rendition of these two concertos, but also make a major contribution to the growth of the theremin as a concert instrument. While BMOP has been a significant proponent of the theremin, we have yet to record and release music for the theremin; this will be a historic addition to the BMOP/sound catalog.

To help fund the recording session, BMOP has launched a Kickstarter campaign. Share this link with a friend to help BMOP make this recording a reality! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/bmopsound/sirens-bmops-historic-theremin-recording
