BMOP releases the first recording of orchestral music by British-born, Boston-based composer Peter Child. Shanti headlines the disc, inspired by Child's time spent studying in Madras, India (now Chennai). Rounding out the CD are the concert overture Jubal and the symphonic triptych Adirondack Voices.

BMOP finishes the 2017-2018 season with three world premieres: Pixelandia by Yu-Hui Chang; percussionist Beibei Wang premieres The Legend of Cowherd and Weaver Girl by Anthony Paul De Ritis, and A Thousand Mountains, A Million Streams by Lei Liang closes the concert. Huang Ruo's piano concerto, Unscrolled, rounds out a program inspired by East Asian culture.
