BMOP has a small staff and a big agenda. Volunteering your time and expertise is a way to help BMOP, get an insider's look at this unique organization, and receive volunteer benefits.
We realize that not everyone interested in volunteering can make the same type of commitment. In order to accommodate volunteers' different needs and schedules, BMOP is offering three ways to donate your time—through the Student Network, by becoming an intern, or by signing up for the Volunteer Call List.
BMOP Student Network
BMOP aims to attract a new generation of orchestra patrons through its Student Network. The Network is an opportunity for college students to spread the word about BMOP on college campuses by posting flyers, inviting groups of friends, and even selling tickets to earn prizes. Joining the Student Network will entitle students to benefits such as invitations to special events, complimentary tickets, two-for-one tickets to Jordan Hall concerts for their friends, and the chance to meet musicians, composers, music industry professionals and other students.
BMOP Internships offer students and recent graduates a more in-depth experience with the orchestra. Internships are available for students with a background in music who can make a semester commitment to traveling to the BMOP office during office hours and attending BMOP concerts. BMOP staff members work with interns to create job descriptions based on their interests and experience. Projects for interns are available in Production, Marketing, Development, Education, Artistic Administration, Website Maintenance, and Program Research. Benefits include complimentary tickets, flexible hours, a travel stipend, and the opportunity to see BMOP from the inside. Interns may be eligible for college credit. BMOP accepts applications year-round.
To apply for a BMOP Internship, send a cover letter discussing your interest in BMOP and your background in music and/or arts administration and your resume to:
