composer

Ryan Vigil (b. 1978), active as a composer, conductor, pianist, theorist, and teacher, holds degrees from Yale University, Tufts University, and the Manhattan School of Music. His principle teachers have been Martin Bresnick, Marti Epstein, Aaron Jay Kernis, John McDonald, and Elias Tanenbaum. Vigil's music -- which has been performed on three continents -- inhabits a fairly narrowly-circumscribed world populated by soft sounds slowly unfolding in time.
