piccolo

Rachel Braude, flute, is an original member of BMOP and is the piccolo player in the Portland Symphony, Rhode Island Philharmonic, and Boston Philharmonic. She has also played with such ensembles as Opera Boston, the Boston Ballet Orchestra, the Boston Pops, Emmanuel Music, and the Walden Chamber Players. Rachel was born in New Jersey, moved around a bunch, and ended up in Jamaica Plain with her husband Charles, who enjoys flinging flour around her kitchen; and her two cats, Donald and Dillon, who enjoy lying on the heating vents. Rachel is kind of a bookworm, enjoys hiking, and has a serious and sometimes annoying obsession with antiques. Despite her love of words and chatter, she is terrible at, and kind of hates, scrabble, which is the main source of strife in her marriage.
