Saxophonist Chien-Kwan Lin embodies a widow's grief during the tumultuous Cultural Revolution in China on Xiaoxiang. Liang and pipa virtuoso Gao Hong simultaneously look back to a rich Chinese tradition and forward to new sounds in Five Seasons.

BMOP takes a trip to an operatic world of water genies, mechanical birds, fantastical creatures, and more, as we welcome back soprano Heather Buck to reprise the title role she created in Haroun and the Sea of Stories by Charles Wuorinen.
