Jeremiah Klarman (composition), 17, lives in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts and first appeared on From the Top in 2006. He is a junior at Gann Academy: The New Jewish High School of Greater Boston in Waltham, MA. In 2007, Jeremiah won the ASCAP Foundation’s Morton Gould Young Composer Award for his Dance Suite for Orchestra, and in 2009 he won the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Massachusetts State Composition Competition. He has attended summer programs at Greenwood Music Camp and Music on the Hill, and plays in chamber music ensembles at New England Conservatory’s Preparatory School. At NEC he studies composition with Rodney Lister, classical improvisation with Jeffrey Goldberg, and theory with Larry Bell. He also studies piano with Angel Ramon Rivera at the Rivers School Conservatory.
