The Boston Modern Orchestra Project (BMOP), under artistic director and conductor Gil Rose, returns to the Moonshine Room at Club Café this year for three cabaret-style performances of new music.

BMOP's Club Concert series takes today's classical music to alternative locations. These concerts are unique; nowhere else in Boston can audiences experience new music at a modern venue with a rock vibe. Without concert hall formality, audiences can interact with each other and the musicians on stage, as well as drink and dine during the performance (the full bar and new 209 restaurant menu are available).

The 2005-06 Club Concert series opens on Tuesday, December 6, 2005 with a program of Latin-American music by composers Astor Piazzolla, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Roberto Sierra, William Ortiz, Lejaren Hiller, and Alberto Ginastera, performed by BMOP musicians Alicia Di Donato (flute), David Russell (cello), Nina Ferrigno Andrews (piano), and longtime Boston-favorite Robert Schulz (percussion). Artistic Director Gil Rose will host the evening's events. Gil Rose will also host two additional Club Concerts on February 7, 2006 and April 4, 2006.

The Club Concert begins at 7 pm on Tuesday, December 6, 2005 in the Moonshine Room at Club Café, 209 Columbus Ave. (corner of Columbus Ave. and Berkeley St.), Boston, MA. Doors open at 6 pm. Tickets are $15 and advanced purchases are recommended as concerts frequently sell out. Guests may order dinner before the concert begins and take advantage of Club Café's "2 for $2.09" offer: Order any entrée and receive any sandwich, burger, or specially marked entrée item for only $2.09. For more information or to purchase tickets, call (617) 363-0396 or visit www.bmop.org. Club Café is handicapped accessible.

The Boston Modern Orchestra Project is one of the few professional orchestras in the country dedicated exclusively to performing and recording music of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Founded in 1996 by Artistic Director Gil Rose, BMOP's mission is to illuminate the connections that exist between contemporary music and contemporary society by reuniting composers and audiences in a shared concert experience.

Funding for this organization is provided in part by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
