A.J. McCaffrey joined the CMCB in 2000. A composer and performer in the Boston area, he has written extensively for theater, film, and the concert hall. Mr. McCaffrey has been a composition fellow at the Aspen Music Festival and School and the Tanglewood Music Center, where he received the prestigious Paul Jacobs Memorial Commission. His music has been performed by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, and he is currently the composer-in-residence for the Radius Ensemble. In addition to teaching in the Music Center's Schools Outreach program, Mr. McCaffrey runs CMCB's new Music Technology Lab, and is active in promoting the use of computer technology in music education.
